Home from SATURN 2016
I’ve just arrived home from SATURN 2016 (having “dropped in” on Endava’s East Coast office in New Jersey on the way home).
This was the first time I’ve been to SATURN for a long time and I’m very glad I made the trip. The conference this year was in San Diego which, although a long way, was no hardship once there! It was terrifically well organised by Michele Falce and the SEI team and ran very smoothly. Bill Pollak as general chair and Jørn Ølmheim and Amine Chigani as technical co-chairs did a terrific job and produced a rich and varied programme. Beyond the formal programme the hallway conversations allowed me to catch up with many people I’d not seen for quite a while and meet new people too.
Thanks also to George Fairbanks and Michael Keeling who organised a really interesting “off programme” workshop on container technology. Very instructive to be able to spend a day with some experts understanding this emerging technology!
Finally, thanks to all who came to my session “Getting Your System to Production and Keeping It There“. For those people who wanted the slides, the SATURN specific ones are on the Events page and a slightly earlier set are on Speaker Deck and Slide Share.
I’ll try to write a longer post on what I took from the conference in the next week or so.
